The title of this blog is taken from  the title of a compilation of texts by Elizabeth David, one of the most influential cookery writers of the postwar period in Great Britain, taken from her books,  French Provincial Cooking ,  An Omelette and A Glass of Wine ,  Summer Cooking ,  A Book of Mediterranean Food  and  Spices, Salts and Aromatics in the English Kitchen . I have always found her very inspiring.
